Not Just One Favorite

Sort of Random again here today. I was trying to think of my favorite books and of course that led me to thinking about my favorite everything. And I wonder how people make those long lists of favorite because I can't narrow it down and it changes anyway. I go through different phases. Like many years ago I read historical fiction. A lot. And now I don't read it at all. I don't do Amish fiction but I did read one just because I could get it free for my Kindle. Have you ever tried to think of your real favorites? Or narrow it to just one? Easier said that done. So here's what I came up with--plus lots of random thoughts!!

Oh we like a lot of the same things.

Tangled and Despicable Me are two of my favorites right now.

The only fiction I have read in the last several years has been Karen Kingsbury.

I love the Narnia movies and I just saw The Spy Next Door last week.

I don't watch TV.

I love the book of Philippians.

Your Scriptures are some of my favorites...I love 2 Timothy 1:7..I claim the sound mind all the time.

FUN post!

Renee--we all need the sound mind verse! According to the birth verse thing, that is my verse.

Now it goes in after the hassle. animated movies: Cars, Toy Story, haven't seen that many non-animated movies. Money Pit, Top Gun.
Tv shows pretty much the same, CSI, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder. Flintstones, Jetsons, think we watched the same shows since we lived in the same house.
I think Snip, Snap and Snurr were related to Flicka, Ricka and Dicka, Also Dick, Jane and Sally.

Nancy Drew with cherry coke...

Have never lived anywhere else but this is a horrid place to live in the winter as you well know though I think N and S Dakota would be worse.

Music, Kenny Rogers (wish you had been here last year when he came to town again but no one here likes country music) Dolly Parton, Ronnie Milsap, Willie Nelson. Statler Bros.

I forgot to come back and comment after I'd read it from work. Haven't had much time to keep up with blogs the last couple weeks either. :(

With many things, I don't really have favorites - I like a good variety - but I do have a few...

TV: Dancing with the Stars, Law & Order SVU, Castle, Cake Boss, Divine Design

Books/Authors:
Janette Oke - LOVED her Song of Acadia series & I liked the Love Comes Softly series
Beverly Lewis - Abram's Daughters series)
James Patterson - any
(I know - quite the variation in genres. I go through streaks where I'll read a series then won't read for a long time - hard to find time!)

Kids books:
Skippy John Jones
Dr Suess
*really anything silly or with wonderful descriptions or vivid stories and pictures
As a pre-teen I read a lot of Babysitters Club.
My daughter loves Junie B Jones

Music:
Contemporary Christian is usually what's on in the car or at home. But to work out I like hip-hop/pop stuff. I grew up listening to my Dad's Beatles and 60s-80s rock. I listened to 90s pop and country too... so very much a mix I enjoy. Not really a favorite group/musician.

Reading right now:
(I haven't had much time to read recently, but I have on my nightstand: a Beverly Lewis book (can't remember which one) and Crazy Love. My coffee table has a book our pastor wrote with salvation stories of our church members. And of course my Bible (in its various forms but all NIV) - our church is studying through Leviticus right now, and I've been reading a psalm or two each night if I can keep my eyes open.

My favorite color is blue.

My favorite food is ice cream.

Favorite places I've visited:
Kansas City
Saint Louis
San Francisco
Orlando
National Parks (particularly Yellowstone & Niagara Falls)
Washington D.C.
Haiti (in a different sort of way)

Bible verses:
Jeremiah 29:11(-14)
Romans 8:28 (& context)
(and many others - these have just been a great comfort to us in times of need, so they stick out to me the most.)

(Wow - sorry - this got very long - I might repost on my blog at some point when I have time.)
