Bonneyville Mill

On Wednesday, it was kind of a down day for everyone except Jasmine and myself. We wanted to get out, so we went to Bonneyville Mill to take photos. Then we went to visit a lifelong friend. We've been friends since we were 5!!

My friend Juanita with one of her dogs.

We left for home Thursday and stopped at Soar Tour Adventures in TN. Is stayed on the ground.

We arrived home Friday, having been gone nine days!

Shipshewana and family

One of the things we did in Indiana was visit the Shipshewana Flea Market. It's huge compared to ours. There are thousands of vendors. I didn't really buy a lot though. I did get a sign made for my shop, but I don't have photo of it. Ty and Jasmine bought signs too.

On the way home we stopped, and I took pictures of Jasmine. If you've noticed that I'm taking a lot of her, it's because we're doing a project for her senior year.

That evening we took pictures of Ty, Jasmine, my sister, mom and brother-in-law.

After I finish posting about the trip, I'll have you help choose the best pictures of Jasmine.

Home Sweet Home

We arrived at my mom's house late Saturday night.

On Sunday we took my mom on errands, and then my childhood friend came over.

The next day Tyler, Jasmine and I went to Lake Michigan. We were hoping for dunes, but the beach we chose didn't have dunes. My sister, brother in law and mom were supposed to meet us there, but since the forecast wasn't for sun, they chose not to.

Then we went to my in-laws for dinner. It was really nice.

I wish it weren't so long between visits.

I am going to send Rick up to see them soon.

To Bloomington and Beyond

After Cummins Falls we headed north again. We should have driven farther that night, and the next day would have gone much better, but oh well. Hindsight. We loved the falls and didn't want to leave.

We got a bit late start to Bloomington and ended up at the back of the line for a Karen Kingsbury book signing and event. They'd sold 400 tickets and we were very near the back of those 400 fans. The instructions were to get our book signed and then go watch a 30-minute video. Really they should have started sending people to watch the video first once the line got long. We waited over 2 hours in line, and then it was so late that I skipped watching the video because we needed to move on.

The upside of the long line was that Karen Kingsbury's mom travels with her, but most people don't know who she is. She recognized Jasmine and I and came over to talk with us while we were in line. So I got to catch up on all the news while waiting.

Only one of Karen's children was with her, the youngest, Austin. He is 6'4" and Jasmine is 4'9". He is a really friendly young man and dutifully posed with all of Karen's fans.

We were supposed to be at my step grandson's football game two hours away from 1-3, but arrived at 5!! The game had gotten rained out half way through, so we didn't actually miss it. We met up at their house. Getting there so late, we didn't have much time with them. But it went really well. Tyler got Griffin into Magic the Gathering cards, and Jasmine and Phoenix messed with drums together. Griffin was really upset when Ty had to leave.\

We took a bunch of photos together. My tripod was buried, so we balanced the camera on a pile of old photo albums.

I don't get to see these guys very often, so we are trying to plan something for next summer.

After this we drove on up to my Mom's arriving about four hours later than planned.

Cummins Falls

We had a blast at Cummins Falls! It starts with a downhill hike (which means that it ends with an uphill walk! And did I mention that I broke my toe two days before the trip?)

Then you walk down the river, over rocks etc. to get to the falls. You can climb as far up the falls as you want, but you can only jump from the bottom ledge.

It is a beautiful place!

I am not used to so much climbing, and the top of my legs were sore! Obviously there are muscles I don't use often!

If you get a chance to go the falls, do it. It's beautiful, adventurous and free.
