Kids Update

Last Saturday night the girls finished up Lord's Boot Camp and commissioned. They left Monday mid day for AZ. They came up 95 and across I 10 which put them within 1 1/2 hrs of our house. Rick called and arranged to intercept the bus and provide pizza for the whole team. (about 26 kids and 5 leaders) It was 8:30 p.m. central and dark so he didn't get good pictures. Later a mom was able to meet the bus in TX at a McDonald's where she provided cupcakes for a birthday celebration. This is the bus in TX.

Jessica seems to be getting along really well with all the team members. I think she's a popular leader. Or it might be the light sabre she got in her kid's meal.

Jasmine is doing okay, but this is challenging for her. I found out she was in her PJ pants the first few days because her tent flooded in the rain soaking all her clothes.

I miss my girls but I wouldn't have wanted them to miss this opportunity.

The guys went to Pensacola today. First stop was Ty's college (UWF) to drop off and pick up papers.

Then they went to Pensacola Christian College a short distance away to drop Adam off for eXtreme Teen Camp for four days.

I hope he has a lot of fun, but also hears and really listens to the things they teach. I hope he'll start to get a glimpse of what God might have ahead for him.

No word from Jeff, but I didn't really expect to hear from him. He resents me for sending him to Camp Tracey for four years, but when I sent him, he had joined up with a wanna be gang and was making very bad choices for his life. Most of the rest of that group is now in jail, and I'm pretty sure he would have been too. We made the choice we did to keep the girls safe, but also to keep him safe from himself! Those of you with RADs know what I mean. And based on how fast things deteriorated once we faced conflict over his porn and law breaking while he was here this spring, I think it was the best. When he refused to give up the porn and live under our rules, there was no safe choice but to remove him again. Sometimes the choices that need to be made are hard, but the best ones for everyone. But he refuses to see how rules apply to him and keep him safe.

Rick will be going to Jeff's basic training graduation the first week in September.

The girls will be leaving AZ on July 30 to drive back to FL and will finish there Aug 6.

Adam will be home Friday.

The twins and I are just hanging out.
