Sunny Weekend

It seems like we've spent a lot of time lately dealing with issues--lying, stealing, deceit, misuse of electronics etc. so I wanted to have a day that was just fun. The weather was nice Sunday afternoon and we didn't have evening church, so the three littles and I headed to the beach. Jessica and Adam had to work, and Tyler and Rick prefer the couch to the beach. So off the three of us went.
Jasmine at the beach.

Jasmine giving Kayla a ride.

I'd love to say there were not problems, but there were. When I said we were going to
walk up to the store for ice cream, one of them outright lied to me about something. It wasn't something that
it even made sense to lie about. Cost him the ice cream. But everyone had pretzels and juice boxes.

On Labor Day we went to the nearby bay. We rented a kayak with pedals  and that's what Ty is in.
The paddle wasn't even  necessary.

And we rented a paddle board.

Tyler drove the  jet ski for the first time.

Looks like you are enjoying the last of summer. If I lived closer I'd come and visit and enjoy the water with you.

That all looks like so much fun. It is so smart to have a day away to help redirect everyone a little and just to take a break.

Isn't lying the worst.... and especially when it is something little and nonsensical. There are so many times I have wanted to say "If you are going to lie, at least lie about big things that matter!!!" But that wouldn't be very good parenting :)

Felicia--that would be fun. We seem to go through the same things although not at the same time.

T- It's crazy. I told K that I was getting ready to walk them up to the store for ice cream. He grabbed his bucket from where it was near me and ran toward the water with it. I called him back and asked him why he ran the other way when it was time to go get ice cream. He told me he had to go to the water to get his bucket!! He had just picked it up next to me right in front of me so he knows I saw him pick it up. But he's trying to tell me he was running to the water to get it. And you'd think he'd stay right with me to make sure he got ice cream anyway. It made no sense.

We did paddle board once before. It's fairly easy for them so I took the jet ski out and rode circles around them to make wake and a whirlpool. The rode the wake on the paddle board and in kayaks.
