What' Cooking?

The bigger four each cook once a month. It can either be something from a recipe they choose, or something easy. The point is that they help out here and will be able to cook for themselves later. Here's what they made in November.

Tyler made fettuccine and Alfredo sauce, corn in butter sauce and brussel sprouts.

Jessica made green bean casserole and baked corn.

Doesn't the baked corn look good?
Green Bean Casserole
16 oz bag French green beans cooked
can cream of chicken soup
cooked bacon crumbled
salt and pepper
can French fried onions

Combine beans, bacon and soup. Add ½ can onions. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes. Top with the remaining onions and bake 5 minutes more.

Baked Corn
2 cans cream style corn
2 tbs. butter
4 tbs. sugar
4 tbs. flour
4 eggs well beaten

Combine ingredients. Pour into greased baking dish. Bake at 350F for 35-45 minutes

Adam made chicken pot pie with left over turkey using the bisquick recipe.

Yum! Thankfully these went so quickly that I didn't eat too many.

Chicken Pot Pie
1 2/3 cups frozen mixed vegetables, cooked
1 cup cut-up cooked chicken
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup Original Bisquick mix
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
Heat oven to 400°F. In ungreased 9-inch pie plate, stir vegetables, chicken and soup.
In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour into pie plate.
Bake uncovered about 30 minutes or until crust golden brown.
Makes 6 servings

Peanut Butter Brownies
1 c flour 1/2 c solid Crisco
1/2 tsp baking powder 3 eggs
1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c sugar 6 oz chocolate chips
1/2 c peanut butter

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Cream sugar,
peanut butter, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Gradually beat
in flour mixture. Mix until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips.
Spread in well greased 9x13” pan. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
Cut into bars while warm.

Jasmine made turkey loaf, sweet potatoes and stuffing! Yum!

Now that's I've posted all these food pictures, I need to go find something for breakfast!
