Winding Down

Jessica played in the church program Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

Anthony came to the program. His family doesn't go to church anywhere, so he's started coming to our church Wednesday evenings which is the small group Bible study for teens. Even though Jessica just got to know him through Explorers and especially during the week of torture this summer, it turns out he went to the same Christian school as my kids before it closed down but he was in a different program so their paths never crossed.

We went to the mall to Sbarros after the concert. Then we went to Penneys and I bought Anthony a shirt for Christmas. I was going to get black to go with the pants he's wearing in the above picture, but he likes green better and there was one that went well with the pants so that's what he got. Jessica is supposed to get a picture of him with it tonight. He wanted it wrapped : )

This is the cool coffee machine at the eye drs. I don't drink coffee but Jessica does.

You put one of those little containers in the machine still sealed. It punches a hole in it and makes your coffee.
We got our of our 9 a.m. appt at 12:35 so Jessica had both pumpkin spice and french vanilla.

This appt went forever. They had to do the dilating drops three times. We waited well over an hour just for his eyes to dilate.

Kaleb has to wear an eye patch. I'll post pictures later. I may have to duct tape it around his stubborn little head!

We went to the food court after the appt.

Jessica took Jasmine to Legend of the Guardians. This is the loot they brought home.

Waiting for the last DPT and polio shots.

Smiling through the last shots.
The pictures of Kayla all show her chest because she didn't wear her undershirt (Kaleb has one on but it's pulled up) and her chest shows. She's young, but it just doesn't look right.

They both did so great that we went to Burger King.
(This was before I read the note in Kaleb's bag that he hit a pregnant teacher in the stomach today!)

Jasmine is pre oping right now for her surgery tomorrow.

Which One?

I have to submit a picture to my publisher. I don't know if it will be used for anything besides their file on me or not. Jessica took a bunch of snapshots. What I don't like about pictures is my teeth. I don't have the straight bleached white ones. I have a lot of crowns (you can't bleach crowns) including one that is off color (I think the dentist at that time was color blind or something) and crooked right in front. My dentist now only believes in servicable dental work. He doesn't care what it looks like, but I might have it redone elsewhere later. It really stands out in pictures. I tried smiling with my mouth shut but those pictures looked smirky. Also, you can see the top margin on old crowns in back. I think it isn't as noticeable in the outside pictures.

I think Jessica did a good job though. Which picture(s) would you send? I was thinking of sending two or three different ones.

Another Boring Day

Today was another very boring day. It was rainy and dreary, and that made everyone feel really blah. I was going to take everyone to Guardians (the owl movie), but Jasmine was still sick, and it would have really upset her to be left out. So no one went.

Tyler spent a lot of the day cleaning his room in preparation for Jeff coming home. Ty hasn't shared his room since he was about 7 or 8, so this will be different for him. Jeff and Adam shared a room before and that was a BIG mistake because they were grounded to their room together too much, and it left too much time to plan mischief.

It looks like we still have a ways to go.

We played playdough with the little ones.

The church program was tonight and will be again tomorrow afternoon. Kayla is all dressed up.
She did really well in spite of an issue with someone that resulted in Tyler leaving the service with her to avoid a bonding issue. Rick had to take Kaleb out and left Ty and Kayla. I know the person thinks Ty is really rude for taking her and leaving, but that is exactly what he should have done. It's too bad he was put in that situation and was not able to stay for the candle light part.

She looks like she's holding her breath!

Poor jazzy! She felt miserable all day, but couldn't sleep. She finally fell asleep after 8 p.m.

Bored, Bored, Bored

This has to be one of the longest most boring days ever. So I just started shooting pictures at random of my "stuff."

So here's some "stuff."

This is new stuff. It came in the mail today from Tyndale. I guess they remember all their authors at Christmas.

Jasmine gave me this bell because she got one like it last year and told me I should have this one. It's much bigger than it looks in the picture.

Jessica sat the fake snow and snowmen on top of my files. Tyler added his singing dog.

This is the fireplace in what we jokingly call my office. It also has games, puzzles, a ping pong table etc. in it. In reality, I have a corner : ) I got the nativity on clearance a couple of years ago but this is the first year I put it up.

This is a saw I bought in Nashville, IN on a trip home.

My husband got me these for an anniversary we celebrated while stationed in England.

This is a stocking Tyndale sent me last Christmas, and I hung beside my desk.

My mom made the top three advent calendars years ago. Jessica made the bottom three this year. Jeff's isn't up because he won't be home until the 23rd and we are out of room really.

Kaleb made this angel at school.

Our original nativity. Rick's dad made the stable.

I don't remember who gave me these.

I made the doll behind the fisherman during the few months we were in Okinawa. I really didn't want to leave there, but Ty needed some help he wasn't getting. Doing it over I'd stay and do his therapy myself.

This is what my writing area really looks like. There is no way to make it look uncluttered because of the papers in the hutch and the works in progress, school papers etc. on the desk. My computer was loading the photos for this post. I wonder what the jumble of stuff on the walls says about me?

Reindeer I made in another life time, I would pour my own ceramics, not just paint them. This was 20+ years ago though.

Jasmine was in bed with a fever most of the day, but got up to watch Beauty and the Beast. She's putting the left over candy canes (from making the mice) on the tree.

This is what the fire place looks like lit up. Well, in real life it looks better of course. Can't really get a good picture of lights.

So that's some of my "stuff."
