Veteran's Day

Last week the weather was beautiful all week--sunny and in the 70s. Today is cooler, overcast and drizzly! Blah.

When we were cleaning out the kitchen drawers, we came across a nut cracker. The kids had no clue what it was for. So I bought some nuts so they could try it.

We wore jackets to the parade on Veteran's Day, but ended up being too hot!

We started reading through Just for Me: My Family during the summer, but didn't finish. Things got crazy once school started, and we never got back to it. So we played the Frisbee game together after the Veteran's Day Parade. It's on pages 66-67 of the family book.

Ready to start!

It took everyone between three and six throws to hit the first target.

He's wearing beads from the Veteran's Day parade.

Travis wanted to play.

Yep. It landed up there, and she had to throw it from there.

Final target-it had to land in the basket.
We aren't the greatest Frisbee throwers, but we had a lot of fun. The kids asked to play again soon so we'll probably be doing that and other outside activities during Thanksgiving week if the weather is nice. Otherwise we'll do some of the indoor activities.

CHECK OUT THESE BOOKS FOR OTHER FUN IDEAS FOR GIRLS 6-9 (5-8 really) and 8-12. They fit great in a Christmas stocking. And they make an extra special gift if you look at the craft projects in each book and add the supplies to the gift.
