ewomen

Friday and Saturday Jessica and I attended the Extraordinary Women's Convetion in Pensacola.

First we stopped at University of West Florida for a tour. She has one more year of high school but thinks this might be the college for her. It offers a lot and is smaller and safer than many of the other FL colleges. She should also be able to get more than one scholarship.

At the hotel.

There were several speakers--Julie Clinton, Angela Thomas, Michelle Mckinney Hammond, Stormie O., Karen Kingsbury and Chonda Pierce. Chonda and Michelles were funny and Karen was touching, funny too.

Charles Billingsley, Matthew West and New Song provided music.

With Ann Kingsbury

With Karen.

Getting concessions.

With Karen again.

In Destin on the way home.

I love Karen Kingsbury have you read her "this side of Heaven" I love the Baxter's I was so excited reading take one when I seen Bailey was in it. What other Chritian Fiction authors do you enjoy?

I've read all of Karen's. Am rereading the Redemption series right now.

Other than Robin Lee Hatcher and Angie Hunt (only the present day books, not historical) my favorite authors are suspense--Terri Blackstock, Brandilyn Collins and Dee Henderson. I've never met Dee Henderson. She doesn't travel much.

Baily is based on Karen's daughter. I thought I had her in a picture but guess not this time. She is a musical drama major.

One funny thing--Karen's mom says that Karen's dad was the emotional one. He'd tell her that her little stories were wonderful growing up and that someday everyone would read her stories but that she'd say, "This word is spelled wrong."!

I never knew Baily was based on a person. This side of heaven is based on her brother.

I'm reading Retuen to me by Robin Lee Hatcher right now. So far I love it. I use to read regular non-fiction books, but then my mom bought me a Karen Kingsbury book awhile ago and now I love them. Before reading sometimes I would feel guilty about my reading material I love Christian fiction books, but don't really care for books based on a long time ago like Jannette Oke.

I'll have to give the others a try too.
