Visit with Jeff

This week was Jasmine's annual Shand's visit. Since it's several hours away and only a couple hours from Orlando, we decided to combine it with a trip to Universal and Islands of Adventure. When we go that way we pass within an hour of Jeff so we decided to take him along. At the last minute Rick couldn't go because of a certification he had to get and of course this is the only week it was offered.

The first day we got Jeff and drove down the hotel and just hung out at the pool. Adam is still at camp so not with us and Jessica didn't want to swim so is not in the pictures.

Coke, Pop, Soda?

So, I grew up calling it "pop." That was in northern IN. Then I moved to Jax, FL to teach and everything was "cokes" so the first day I asked the cafeteria lady for a "coke" and she asked me what kind of coke. Huh? Was there more than one? (Not back then!)Now I just call it all "soda" in general and call each kind by its specific name. My favorites right now are Cherry Coke, Mountain Dew and I've recently been drinking the Mt. Dew Voltage. I tried Cherry Coke Zero at the World of Coke and have been drinking it most--it is not my favorite by any means but I don't need the extra empty calories from soda.

If you are reading this, what do you call soft drinks and where in general do you live?

(I posted this same chart over a year ago on the adoption blog in case you think it looks familiar).

More From Last Week

After Stone Mountain, we went back to Atlanta to The World of Coke. I don't think downtown Atlanta will ever be my favorite place to drive. A lot of one way streets and they are usually going the opposite way from what I need.

They had a lot of coke memorbilia.

My girls with the coke bear.

Coke art.

At the end you could taste about 75 different flavors/kinds of coke divided into different continents. I've done it before at Epcott and my stomach never enjoys it so I only tried three from Asia and then went to the U.S. coke room.

We Celebrated the Fourth

with only three children! Things are feeling empty. Adam is at mission camp still and the twins are still in Haiti of course. We have a half empty house.

We went to the bay and played games, kayaked and grilled steak.
