Summer Update

School ended June 1. Next year the twins will be in 8th grade, and Jasmine will be a senior.

Kaleb ended the school year suspended. Third for the year, and he is on his last warning at that school. He is out of district in the best middle school. We live in the worst district. Next year Kayla joins him at that middle school.

Tyler, Jasmine and I left for Indiana on June 7. We needed something to do with the twins during this time. I fortunately found a small Christian camp less than an hour away, and it was free. So I signed them both up.

However, Kaleb had another conviction while Rick and I were in NYC, and his court date was Tuesday morning of the week of camp. He wanted me to take him a day late, but he is on parole this time, and has a curfew. He can't be out of the house after 6:00 p.m. without a parent. So no camp. I would not have taken him late anyway since this was his doing.

Unfortunately, with all this going on, we are no longer being considered for adoption. Or at least we have not heard from anyone in months. A year ago all we needed was a signature. I guess a 9th child is not to be.

Jasmine and I took Kayla to camp, and everyone seemed very friendly and welcoming.

Kayla will be leaving for Teen Missions this coming Friday, but she is still $900 short.

Kaleb will be going to the Boys & Girls club this summer in order to have something positive to do where he will be supervised. He has to meet with his parole officer weekly, has community service hours and an essay and apology to write. He is not writing them because he thinks that he is an exception. Our first meeting may be interesting.

Tyler, Jasmine and I loaded up Thursday and headed north. We shopped our way to Tennessee and stopped for the night because we wanted to go to Cummins falls Friday morning. The park closes at 6:00 p.m., and we wanted to have plenty of time.

I'll post about Cummins Falls next time, but here are a couple of the pictures I took:

Sorry to hear about Kaleb. Good Kayla made it to camp though. I hope you have a fun time on your trip and the falls look pretty.

God bless
