Thanksgiving

We started the day with a 5K/one mile run. The kids did really well despite the icy roads and cold.

Ready to go

Ready to walk the mile

Ready for the 5K

Hunter got up at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. He worked all day. Left town at about 5:00 p.m. and drove 15 hours straight through the night to be with Jessica!! This is an amazing young man!

My mom, brother in law, sister and our crew.

Tyler

We only had one gingerbread house, and it came assembled, so it wasn't much challenge. We have three here that we forgot to do when we had our early Thanksgiving. So we'll be doing them sometime this month.

Tyler, Jessica and Hunter went out to try and get a few things for me, but turns out there isn't a Toys R Us in this town, so we didn't get most of it. They did get the main thing I sent them after at Walmart, but actually they were out and said they'd sent it to us. But now they say they have to send it to the store where it was paid for--in Indiana.

The rest of us watched Polar Express and  had the hot cinnamon pumpkin spice apple juice mixture I bought at a little store in Nashville, IN.

After the race, my car froze up and wouldn't shift into third. So I had to get it warmed up. I ended up taking it into a shop. I was worried it might really be the transmission, but it wasn't. I wasn't sure when I'd be able to drive it, so Hunter and Jessica took Tyler back to Job Corps, and then they went on to Chattanooga to do some sight seeing.

My car was ready late afternoon, so I loaded quickly and the kids and I headed out. We drove about six hours, stopping at about ten p.m. We made it as far as Bowling Green. We drove the rest of the way the yesterday and got in around 7:00 last night.

Love the Polar Express- that is on my list for this season.

Also- you guys are such dedicated runners- there's no way I could convince my crew to run a race on Thanksgiving morning- ok- truth- maybe there is just no way I could convince myself to run!

Running in the snow was a novelty for them. I'm sure it would wear off :)
