Snow!

There wasn't really enough snow for good sledding, but since the twins had never even seen snow before, they were happy.

It's All About the Journey

On Sunday morning we left the Florida panhandle for Elkhart, IN by way of KY to get Tyler.

First rest stop.

BounceNet Birmingham Mall

We stopped in KY to get Tyler.
We stopped in Nashville IN to buy a painted saw, but that store was closed. A lot of the stores were closed. So we hung out for a while.

Many of the stores were decorated for Christmas.

Then we started the final 4-5 hours to the IN/MI border. It started snowing, so of course I stopped along a smaller highway and let everyone out to play in the snow. It was the twins' first time to see snow at all.

We finally arrived at my sister's house.

So they all got to experience snow.

Early Thanksgiving

We are headed to northern Indiana for Thanksgiving. The reason is that Tyler doesn't want to spend Thanksgiving at Job Corps. By time we get him in KY, we are closer to my mom and sister in IN than we are to home. So we're going to go on up, spend three days, and then return Ty to KY and return to FL.

So we decided to do an early Thanksgiving here and have Hunter and his mother over along with his niece.
Jessica wanted to do the cooking, but she needed help getting the neck out of the Turkey.  At our house, the guys usually do all the cooking on Thanksgiving. But of course Ty and Adam aren't here this year. First year they aren't with us for it.

I peeled 5+ pounds of potatoes.

Hunter, Jessica and Jasmine

Jasmine and Hunter's niece. Jasmine was wearing jeans and a nice shirt, but Zona Mae was wearing a nice dress, so Jasmine changed to her dress.
Our family plus Hunter, his mom and his niece.

No, they didn't get to eat all that.  It wouldn't be good for them. But we let them each have a little off of it. They were well supervised because Travis can be food aggressive, but it wasn't a problem since there was so much to share. Only Max is missing from this photo.

We found out Rick has to work next week so won't be making the trip to Indiana with us. I need to go find something that passes as winter clothing and get packed.

In the Past Few Days

Kayla and Kaleb had their half birthday-- 8 1/2. They were supposed to pose with their individual cupcakes but practically inhaled them instead.

And we made goodies for the teachers. Jessica is crushing Oreos for "Snowman poop."

The girls are making cookies. We made sugar cookies, pumpkin cookies and chocolate mint cookies.

This is what it all looked like finished.
Jasmine helped in the first grade Sunday School class for community service hours for civics class. It's part of the Florida requirements for 7th grade civics.

She also sang at a nursing home with the younger kids, but I don't have pictures yet.
Three science projects from each class were chosen to go to school wide science fair. Jasmine's was one of the three chosen from her class.

So that's what we've been doing the past few days.
