Fourth of July

Rain was expected on the 4th, but we went out first thing to try and get in a little street hockey before the rain.
This is their second time and everyone is getting a little more steady on skates. We also got the sizes worked out. Last time Kayla and picked a pair that were three sizes too big!
Tyler shows his spirit.
It started to pour after only about 15 minutes, so we headed in to do Wii.

Kayla and Jasmine were playing too, but seem to have missed pictures.

Tyler's favorite kind of shake is strawberry, so we decided to make home made strawberry shakes. We found a recipe that used milk, vanilla ice cream, vanilla flavoring, sugar and real strawberries. We added some strawberry syrup too.

Of course we added whipped cream.
And there you have it.

Rick wanted to grill, not broil, the steaks even though it was pouring.

It cleared up later, and Jasmine and I went out rollerblading. Unfortunately I either caught my wheel in a crack or got a rock stuck in the wheels. All I know is that my skate stopped and I didn't. I landed with my knee twisted backward. I just iced it that night, but went to the ER Thursday morning. The ligaments in my knee are torn and will take 3-6 weeks to heal. VERY disappointing since we been swimming, skating, walking/running and trying to stay active this summer. Update: Six months later and my knee has not healed. Blah.
We ended the 4th with fireworks at home.

My hubby likes to grill no matter what the weather, too.
