My previously downloaded pictures have not been recovered yet from the dead computer but I can download new ones to my laptop.
We celebrate half birthdays at our house. We started this way back--about 17 years ago. It seems like kids always say they are almost 5,6,7, whatever the next age is from the moment they have their previous birthday. So we started half birthdays so that they'd know when they were half way to the next number. And we still continue it.
We used to always have half a cake but now we sometimes have cupcakes. Especially since my oven is still broken. So yesterday I headed for Walmart's reduced bakery items first. I couldn't resist this cow. I haven't seen them have anything like it before. This was Ty's special cake. The rest of us had football cupcakes.
Happy 17 1/2 Ty!

RIP Dear Computer
I was in the process of uploading photos to my computer when it crashed and the mother board fried. I'm working off my laptop now but I don't have any photos on it to post. So now my computer is shot and my oven is still broken. Hmmm. What's next? Oh yeah, did I mention $850 in car repairs?????

Birthday 2
Rick took me to National Treasure 2 last night which was fitting because Nicholas Cage was also born Jan 7 but is two years younger.
I would LOVE to have the money he made from just this one movie!! I'd:
pay off the land we no longer own in GA
pay off the SUV
pay off Jeff's tution
pay for our adoption (we still owe $10,000!!!)
buy a bigger house
adopt a third child, probably Madoche
After the movie we went to Chili's but we split a meal because I'd eaten a ton of popcorn! (I didn't know we were going anywhere afterward)
All in all, a good day.
The kids are back to school today. The high school bus comes at 6:18 even though school doesn't start until 7:30. They need to use the buses for the other schools so the kids are there an hour early. The elementary bus comes at 6:50 and the middle school bus at 7:50.

In 1789, the first nationwide U.S. presidential election was held. The electors chosen by the voters unanimously picked George Washington as president and John Adams as vice president.

Unfortunately all the pictures from today have disappeared never to be seen again.
