The Youngest Three

Right now we are in the busiest part of the the year. Jasmine's last day of school is tomorrow. She graduates May 29. The twins graduate middle school two days later. Here are some pictures from recent events.

The twins got new hair cuts, and Jasmine got her hair straightened. So new looks for all three.

The twins turned 14 on May 15.
For the first time--at least since toddlerhood--this is the first time Kaleb has been taller. In previous years Kayla has been between 3" and 6" taller. Now she is 5'4", and he is 5'5". Her hair makes her look taller, but look at the should height. We had to line them up on the wall and mark the heights to be sure.

This is the remaining kitty. Tyler is keeping him.

The senior classes here all go to elementary schools and do a walk through. This was Jasmine's walk through.

She also had awards day.

The cord is a military cord and the medal is for perfect attendance.

The church also had a recognition day for all the seniors.

Next time she wears the cap and gown will be at her graduation.

As I mentioned earlier, this is the one kitty we are keeping. Both mama kitties have been spayed. So now we have 12 week old Sorin, two mama kitties, an old kitty and four dogs.

Jayden, around 13-16 years old

 Travis, 6

 Sasha, 5

Sadie, approx 7-8

 Caspian, 8

Rosie, approx 2-3

Abbi, litter mate to Rosie

The next weeks are going to be crazy busy. Memorial Day at our new house the 27th, graduation the 29th, the twins middle school graduation the 31st, Tyler, Jasmine and me flying to NYC the 31st, the twins' 5 day camp June 10, high school cross country starting the 10th (the twins will start late), Kayla's court date undetermined, Jasmine leaving for her summer mission June 15. We also have to make sure Jasmine's college classes are set up for next fall before she leaves for camp.

I will be updating my blog as these events take place.

Easter Birthday

I haven't gotten much posted. Mostly it's because I dropped my computer and Tyler dropped it once (he didn't know the backpack was zipped all the way up and the weight of the computer pulled it open) and the slot for the photo card is smashed. So I had to get an adapter.

And I hadn't replied to comments because I'm no longer receiving an e-mail when I have a comment like I used to.

Winter's second birthday fell on Easter this year. So in the morning we had an egg hunt for River and Winter at the beach as we have since River's first Easter (I think).

Winter came over in her sleeper and got dressed here.

Flying kites on Easter is a Haitian tradition we have followed since the twins came home.

In the evening we had Winter's party at a nearby park. She was pretty tired out from the day.

I need to get a new computer. I, of course, let my crash and dent expire a month before the computer was dropped or they'd have to fix it. I currently have an ASUS. What computer does everyone have and do you like it?

New House Update

The house we bought was built in 1968. It has a lot of light pink, light green and light tan (??) walls. I have been trying to brighten it up.

This is what I have done so far.

My office:

The color is called Classic Turquoise. The room has a large window that overlooks the street.

This is the kitchen:

It is a similar color to my office, but it's a different shade. It's called Echo Lake Aqua, and  both Jasmine and Kayla's rooms will also be this color.

This is the master bedroom. I was tempted to paint it the same, but wanted something more "relaxing" rather than "energizing."

We share the room with the two mom cats and six kittens.

I am finishing the hall, and then starting the dining room/game room. I also have to go back and touch up the ceilings and woodwork where I've bumped them. Easier than taping the whole thing.

More to come. I'm still several posts behind, but I haven't had much down time.

Kitty Update

All of the kittens have grown so much since the last photos of them!

Kind of hard to pick them out on this blanket!

They are getting playful.

Litter one was born March 2.

And litter 2 was born March 11.

These two will be going to a new home together in a couple of weeks.

This is their new mama, and she's excited to be adopting them. And I'm happy that two are going together. They are all so close that it's going to be hard to split them up to go to new homes. And I know the mama kitties are going to miss them.

Same as last post, I'm going to plug a couple of my books. My royalties are pretty much non existent at this point due to changes in the industry. Please consider adding the books to your child's Easter basket.

This first one is one of only two I have that are for both boys and girls.

Learn a little Bible trivia while learning more about God’s message within the Bible. This One Year book features 365 trivia questions that lead into meaningful devotions about the questions. Each devotion also includes a For You section, which gives a simple application to kid’s lives. And the answer to the opening question wraps up the devotion and gives readers biblical references to read.

This book will keep curious kids on their toes and give them a reason to open their devotional and Bible daily. They can also use their knowledge to test family members each day.

This gift book for young girls is the perfect next step in the Tyndale princess line. As young girls grow and leave behind some of the fully illustrated picture books, they still want to feel special, and they still need to know they are loved as God’s daughters. This is the book to share with them. This devotional book is full of Scriptures about God’s love, protection, and promises. The book’s 100 devotions tie in the Scriptures to help young girls apply them to their lives. This diary-style book will attract the growing girl while still making her feel like a princess, a special child of God.
