Cool Things the Kids are Doing

The twins are well into their cross country season and improving a few seconds each race.

They are also in JROTC, which requires them to have good behavior both at school and home. It has really changed them a lot.

We have all been trying to take advantage of the still-hot weather.

 Jasmine doesn't have classes on Friday, so we decided to go to the beach. I didn't go all summer due to not having a car and not having time in some cases. So this was our first time since before she left for Honduras.

I saw this old fashion surf board and was curious. The owner came over and told me it was from the 1950s, and his dad had bought it at a pawn shop in the 1960s. 

Jasmine has her first job!! She started at Dollar Tree yesterday. No pictures yet.

Right now I am in San Antonio, so more updates to come later.

Easter Birthday

I haven't gotten much posted. Mostly it's because I dropped my computer and Tyler dropped it once (he didn't know the backpack was zipped all the way up and the weight of the computer pulled it open) and the slot for the photo card is smashed. So I had to get an adapter. 

And I hadn't replied to comments because I'm no longer receiving an e-mail when I have a comment like I used to. 

Winter's second birthday fell on Easter this year. So in the morning we had an egg hunt for River and Winter at the beach as we have since River's first Easter (I think).

Winter came over in her sleeper and got dressed here.

Flying kites on Easter is a Haitian tradition we have followed since the twins came home.

In the evening we had Winter's party at a nearby park. She was pretty tired out from the day.

I need to get a new computer. I, of course, let my crash and dent expire a month before the computer was dropped or they'd have to fix it. I currently have an ASUS. What computer does everyone have and do you like it?

While Dad and Mom Cruised ...

The girls, Tyler, Jasmine and I hung out. Due to hurricane damage at her school, Jasmine attends school from 7-12 in a shared building. So while Hunter and Jessica were gone Tyler slept at their house, walked their huskies and got the girls up and ready for the day. He entertained them until about 11:30. Then I picked them up, went and picked Jasmine up, and we'd go on our adventure for the day.

The first day Hunter's mom had them and we met at a park.

We tried to get photos of them together. It didn't happen.

On Monday I picked Jasmine up and we headed a ways away to a snack shop that had a beach right across from it. I did not realize that for some reason Winter no longer likes the feel of sand. Trying to put her down brought on a major screaming fit, so after letting River play a bit, we loaded up and went to Conservation Park and walked a short trail, then drove back to a park not far from us.

On Tuesday Winter was fussy part of the day--until we got a banana split!

On Wednesday we went to Dave and Busters for lunch and to play games. They wore shirts I'd bought them at Old Navy on clearance the day before.
